Sprint Queen Makelesi Bulikiobo Batimala has been chosen to be the flag bearer at the opening ceremony of the 2008 Beijing Olympic Games representing Team Fiji.
Makelesi has represented Fiji at the 2003 South Pacific Games in the 100m, 200m, 400m and 4x100m relay winning Gold in all her events.
In 2007, her participation in World Athletics Championships held in Osaka, Japan in the 400m event in a time of 52.23s qualified her for the 2008 Beijing Olympic Games.
It is through such achievements that the Board of FASANOC finally made a decision to elect her as Fiji's flag bearer in Beijing in August.
