The military has stressed that any of the officers intending to contest the 2014 general elections will resign from their post.
Land Force Commander Colonel Mosese Tikoitoga said the rules have been the same and there are no changes.
This follows comments by former Fiji Labour Party member and former Minister Krishna Datt that he has no problems if military officers intending to go into parliament resign to contest the next elections.
