The Director of Public Prosecutions, Christopher Pryde said he will not comment on the allegations levelled against senior military officer, Brigadier General Mohammed Aziz in former Land Force Commander, Pita Driti's trial.

The matter came up many times in court that Aziz was the alleged initiator and purported architect of the Sudan Plan in 2010.

Pryde said there is no comment when we asked him if there are any files with the DPP's Office relating to this matter.

He said the right people to comment on this issue would be the police.

We will speak to Acting Police Commissioner, Rusiate Tudravu later today as ACP Ravi Narayan is currently in Vanuatu.

RFMF Chief of Staff, Brigadier General Aziz is currently accompanying Defence Minister, Joketani Cokanasiga on an official visit to China.

Pita Driti remains in custody until the 10th of next month for mitigation and sentencing and he was convicted of inciting to mutiny yesterday.

The maximum sentence for the charge is 15 years imprisonment.
