Upgrading works will be carried out on three squatter settlements next year.
Government has allocated $1 million for squatter upgrading and resettlement projects in next year’s budget.
Director Housing Kolinio Bola said while they will upgrade squatter settlements in Nasinu, Ba and Savusavu, work will continue on the other ongoing projects at Caubati, Sasawira, Narere, Cuvu and Ledrusasa.
Bola said according to the 2007 survey, 15 percent of the population live in squatter settlements.
