Commissioner of Corrections Lt Col Iferemi Vasu’s Christmas this year is unlike any other he has ever had.
Today he surprised 212 inmates at the Natabua corrections centre by dropping in to have breakfast with them.
Sharing breakfast with these inmates Lt Vasu says, is a big support towards rehabilitating them in changing negative mindsets to positive ones, he also adds spending it this way is different from all his other Christmases.
The special breakfast and lunch has been served for the past 3 years by the Seventh Day Adventist-Lautoka District Dorcas.
Today inmates will enjoy their meals and entertainment.
Fijian and English carols are being sung bringing the joy and festivity this Christmas day to prison.
Also joining Lt Vasu for these special meals is inmate Vilikesa Nasivi, who turns 70 today.
