The Fiji Government has signed an agreement with the Chinese government which will see major development works carried out in rural areas next year.
Prime Minister Commodore Voreqe Bainimarama signed the agreement with the Chinese Ambassador for development works in Vanua Levu, Naitasiri, Nadroga and Ba.
Commodore Bainimarama said the government is always been grateful to China for its contribution towards Fiji's economic development.
He added that this marks a very significant milestone in the history of the bilateral relations between Fiji and China.
Roads that will be upgraded are the Natewa coastal road from Nagigi to Bagasau junction, Sawani-Serea road from Naqali to Vunidawa, the Sigatoka Valley road to Keyasi government station and the Moto road in Ba.
