Newly appointed Minister for Agriculture, Fisheries and Forests Lieutenant Colonel Inia Batikoto Seruiratu is already looking forward to the challenges of his new role.

The former permanent secretary of Provincial Development and National Disaster Management believes government has the expertise but he will need teamwork to bring about changes.

Seruiratu said this portfolio is not new to him as he was a former Commissioner Northern and one of the things he is going to do is see that the resources are fully utilized.

The father of three added he will try and see the opportunities that are available for them.

Seruiratu was sworn in as Minister for Agriculture in the last hour by the President Ratu Epeli Nailatikau.
