Bainimarama won’t retire from Commander’s post
The government has today clarified that Prime Minister Commodore Voreqe Bainimarama will not retire from the Army Commander's post in 2014.

Permanent Secretary for Information Lt Colonel Neumi Leweni said it is common sense that Commodore Bainimarama would have to step down from the Prime Minister's post when the elections is held in 2014 but he stresses that Commodore Bainimarama will stay on as the Army Commander.

Lt Colonel Leweni said there have been some misinterpretations by some media outlets but he reiterates that Commodore Bainimarama will stay on with the RFMF to ensure that all the reforms implemented by the current government are followed by the government after the 2014 elections.
