The Fiji Police Force has warned members of the public and traders against the unauthorised use of its official badge for sales or promotional activities, saying such actions may breach national laws.
Police say the misuse of the badge, described as "a crest bearing the St Edward’s Crown above crossed batons, encircled by a wreath with the words “FIJI POLICE” inscribed", or any similar mark, may violate the Fiji Police Act 1965, the Public Order Act 1969 and the Crimes Act 2009.
They have stressed that anyone found responsible may face civil and or criminal prosecution.
