Fiji Bula Boys players quickly stepped in and stopped a man from allegedly stealing from their hotel manager’s vehicle in Suva.
The man had smashed one of the vehicle’s windows.
The national football side is currently camping at the Captain James Cook Hotel, with the vehicle parked across from the hotel when the incident occurred.
Team Manager Shelvin Singh says one of the players noticed that the vehicle’s window had been smashed and saw a man near the vehicle.
He says the player immediately alerted his teammates, who rushed across and stopped the man before anything could be taken from the vehicle.
Singh says Bula Boys players Ilisoni Lolaivalu, who is also a police officer, and Joela Biuvanua were among those who responded to the incident.
He says nothing was reported stolen from the vehicle, however, the smashed window was damaged.
The incident saw the Bula Boys display a different kind of teamwork, this time away from the football field.
