Minister for Finance Esrom Immanuel says the Government has provided the best support it can during the current economic crisis, but acknowledges it cannot satisfy everyone.
While responding to questions during the post 2026-2027 National Budget press conference about people's expectations for further relief measures to address the rising cost of living, Immanuel says some people may feel that what they are receiving is probably not sufficient.
He says this is a difficult crisis, and they have already provided the best that they can from the support that they have been provided.
Immanuel says the only thing the Government probably did not provide was a salary increase to cater for rising costs.
He says, on the flip side, the Government expects fuel prices to reduce from next week, which will ease the burden for people already receiving assistance.
Immanuel adds the Government is trying to stay in the middle to provide some comfort and ensure that we grow in the future.
