Registrar of Political Parties Ana Mataiciwa says the FEO is preparing to publish the application in a newspaper and the Government Gazette, as required under the Political Parties (Registration, Conduct, Funding and Disclosures) Act 2013.
She says members of the public will be able to submit written objections to the proposed party's registration during the objection period following publication.
Mataiciwa says all objections received will be forwarded to the proposed party within seven days for a response.
She says the FEO will then assess the objections and responses before informing both the objectors and the proposed party of its decision.
The proposed OUR Party will be informed whether its application has been approved or rejected after a thorough assessment of its compliance with the legal requirements.
The FEO says transparency and public participation are important in ensuring that political parties meet the necessary legal requirements.
