Professor Prasad appeared before Magistrate Yogesh Prasad this morning after High Court Judge Justice Thushara Rajasinghe rejected his application for a permanent stay of criminal proceedings.
His counsel Richard Naidu says he is good to start this morning, while FICAC counsel Joseph Work asked if they could start this afternoon.
Magistrate Prasad says they can start fresh tomorrow as they are still on their first witness.
Professor Prasad is charged with two offences relating to alleged non-disclosure in his 2015 statutory declaration while he was an office holder of the National Federation Party.
