The Flying Fijians suffered another major setback just before half-time when scrum-half Simione Kuruvoli was shown a red card following a TMO review after he was ruled to have kicked England hooker Ellis Genge.
Fiji also had a try ruled out following the incident, leaving them trailing heavily at the interval.
