The Bula Boys were denied victory by a late Solomon Islands fightback as the two sides played out an entertaining 3-3 draw in the MSG Prime Minister’s Cup 2026 at HFC Bank Stadium in Suva tonight.

Fiji made a positive start in front of the home crowd, with captain Roy Krishna opening the scoring in the 26th minute.

Solomon Islands responded through Rooney Riugaemai, who converted from the penalty spot to level the scores.

Youngster Maikah Dau then restored Fiji’s lead before halftime as the Bula Boys went into the break 2-1 ahead.

Fiji continued strongly after the restart and extended its lead in the 54th minute when Thomas Dunn found the back of the net to make it 3-1.

The complexion of the match changed in the 72nd minute when Fiji were reduced to 10 men after substitute Tevita Waranivalu was shown a red card.

Waranivalu had come on at the start of the second half in the 46th minute.

Solomon Islands took advantage of the extra man and pulled one back through Jayroll Patti in the 82nd minute, setting up a tense finish.

With Fiji looking to hold onto its one-goal advantage, Javin Wae struck in injury time to complete the Solomon Islands fightback and level the scores at 3-3.

The Bula Boys will be hoping to secure their first win when they take on Vanuatu at 7pm on Sunday.
