Hosts Dayal’s Steel Ba have secured their place in the Extra Supermarket Battle of the Giants final after edging Global Care Suva 2-1 despite playing with 10 players in the second half this afternoon at 4R Stadium, Govind Park, Ba.
Etonia Dogalau gave the Men in Black the lead in the 21st minute before Nabil Begg doubled Ba’s advantage in the 54th minute.
Begg was later shown a red card for a foul against Suva’s Abhishek Deo.
Malakai Lavecake, who came on as a second-half substitute, pulled one back for Suva from the penalty spot, but it was not enough.
Ba is now targeting its third major title of the year after winning the Extra Premier League and the BIC Fiji FACT.
Meanwhile, Stratum/PPCL Rewa will play Nasinu in the second semi-final at 4.30pm.
The winner will face Ba in the final at 3pm tomorrow.
