New Zealand Deputy PM pleased that Fiji will be part of Pacific Islands Forum

Deputy Prime Minister of New Zealand, Winston Peters says they are pleased that Fiji will be present at the Pacific Islands Forum later this year.

Peters says they have to put the past behind them because the challenges and demands that face them screams out for attention now.

Peters who met with Acting Prime Minister Aiyaz Sayed-Khaiyum and Minister for Defence and National Security Inia Seruiratu says they have spent time resetting their relationship with Fiji as a result of Pacific Reset and Political Development.

Peters says that some of the initiatives that New Zealand is looking to help Fiji with include climate change, security, policing the fishing resources and capacity building in terms of skilled workers.

Peters also says that their Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern will visit as soon as she can
