Tuimereke of Ra High targets 800m gold after heat win

14-year-old Iliesa Tuimereke of Ra High School is aiming for gold in the 800 metres sub-junior final after winning his heat this morning.

Tuimereke, who is originally from Mataso, thanked his parents for buying him track shoes.

He also acknowledged Master Peter for helping with his training.

Meanwhile, Sela Bulou Ravu won the 800 metres sub-junior girls’ heat.

The 800 metres finals will start at 11.45am tomorrow.
