Rewa FC will take on defending champions Auckland City FC in the OFC Men’s Champions League semi-final on Wednesday at 4R Stadium, Govind Park in Ba.
This is after Auckland came from behind in the final minutes of added time to complete a dramatic 4–3 comeback against Tahiti’s AS Venus.
The Delta Tigers secured their place in the knockout stage after defeating Papua New Guinea’s Lae City FC 2–1 in their must-win final Group B match yesterday.
Merrill Nand and Kavaia Rawaqa scored for Rewa as they secured the crucial victory needed to progress.
Rewa had a difficult start to the tournament, losing 4–1 to Vanuatu’s Galaxy FC in their opening match.
They bounced back strongly with a 4–2 victory over Tupapa Maraerenga before beating Lae City 2–1 to book their place in the semi-finals.
Rewa will now turn their attention to Auckland City as they look to secure a place in the OFC Men’s Champions League final.
The semi-finals will be played on Wednesday at 4R Stadium, Govind Park in Ba, with matches scheduled for 3pm and 7pm.
The final will be played at the same venue at 3pm on Saturday.
