QVS and Dawasamu Secondary continue to lead in Tailevu Zone

Queen Victoria School and Dawasawamu Secondary School continue to lead the medal tallies for the boys and girls divisions at the Coca Cola Tailevu Zone.

QVS leads the boys division with 15 gold, 10 silver and 11 bronze. Ratu Kadavulevu School is in second place with 7 gold, 11 silver and 9 bronze, while Tailevu North College is third with 2 gold, 2 silver and 2 bronze.

Dawasawamu Secondary School leads the girls division with 9 gold, 5 silver and 2 bronze. Tailevu North College is second with 6 gold, 12 silver and 12 bronze, and Wainibuka Secondary School is in third place with 6 gold, 4 silver and 9 bronze.


Looking at the results from today, QVS dominated the 400 metres races, with Jhaire Cokanauto winning gold in the Sub-Junior grade, Michael Tito winning gold in the Intermediate grade, and Samuel Draiva winning gold in the Senior grade.

Emosi Takolevu of RKS won gold in the Junior grade.

In the girls division, it was split between schools, with Unaisi Dagoniyasi and Masilina Naivakvelo of Wainibuka Secondary School winning gold in the Sub-Junior and Junior grades, Esita Naiyabasali winning gold in the Intermediate grade, and Alesi Kulamaidrau of St Vincent College winning gold in the Senior grade.

Meanwhile, Rosivela Matanimeke of QVS won gold in the boys' 3,000 metres, while Sereana Bakeibau of Wainibuka Secondary School claimed gold in the girls’ race.

Day 2 of the Tailevu Zone is underway at the HFC Bank Stadium.
