Despite admitting his side failed to consistently follow their structures throughout the match, McDonald's Fiji Drua Women coach Mike Legge praised his players' resilience and defensive effort after they fought back from behind to secure a hard-fought victory.

Speaking after the win, Legge described the match as another "heart attack game" and acknowledged that his team did not fully stick to their structures for the entire 80 minutes.

However, he says the players showed tremendous character when they found themselves trailing on the scoreboard.

Legge says the team managed to claw their way back into the contest, overturn the deficit and take the lead before producing a determined defensive effort to hold off their opponents.

He says the players defended their hearts out to protect their line and ultimately secure the win.

Legge says he is pleased with the result but stressed that an even bigger challenge awaits next week against the Brumbies.

He says the competition has become extremely competitive, with every team now boasting strong squad depth and quality players, meaning there are no easy games anymore.

Legge warns that if his side is off their game, the Brumbies will make them pay.

Legge remains hopeful his side can build on the victory and deliver another positive result against the Brumbies.

The Drua Women will next face the Brumbies Women at 2.05pm at 4R Stadium in Ba next Saturday.
