Fijiana ready for biggest physical test against South Africa this Saturday - Legge

The Vodafone Fijiana XV have turned their attention to winning collisions as preparations intensify for Saturday's Test against South Africa.

Head coach Mike Legge says the team's first training session at Buckhurst Park today is primarily about getting the players back on the field after an eight-day break following the Super Rugby Women's season.

Legge says the biggest lesson from Drua Women's Super Rugby Women's final defeat to the NSW Waratahs was the importance of dominating the physical contest.

He says he expects South Africa to present one of the toughest physical challenges the team has faced.

Legge says the South Africans arrive in Fiji in good form after a recent Test series against the United States and are continuing to improve.

He says they are in the top 10 for a reason, and will be a physical side that will test them.

While the contact area will be a major focus throughout the week, Legge says the team would remain committed to its attacking style of rugby.

The remaining members of the squad are also expected to join camp as preparations continue for Saturday's Test against South Africa.

The Fijiana's first Test against the Springboks will be held at the HFC Bank Stadium this Saturday at 2pm, while their second Test will be held at Churchill Park in Lautoka next Saturday at 1pm.
