Fiji Pearls receive $150,840 boost ahead of World Cup qualifiers

The Fiji Sports Commission has provided a $150,840 grant to the Fiji Netball Association to support the Fiji Pearls' preparations for the upcoming Netball World Cup Qualifiers in Tonga.

The cheque was presented by Fiji Sports Commission Chairman Peter Mazey to Fiji Pearls head coach Michelle Parsons and Fiji Netball Association board member Vasiti Vocea.

Mazey says the funding reflects the Commission's commitment to helping the national side prepare effectively for the tournament, expressing confidence that the financial support will strengthen the team's campaign.

The grant will help cover key preparation costs as the Fiji Pearls gear up to compete for qualification to the Netball World Cup.

Fiji Netball Head Coach Michelle Parsons thanked the Commission for the sponsorship as preparations for Tonga intensify.

Parsons says she aims to get Fiji Netball back into the top 10.

She says they are currently ranked 18th and she wants to bring Fiji Netball back to its glory days.

Fiji will compete in the World Qualifiers in Tonga from September 14th to the 19th.
