The Fiji Men’s National football team has suffered a 2-1 defeat to Vanuatu in their FIFA International Friendly despite a spirited effort in the second half.
The match remained goalless at halftime after a tight and competitive opening 45 minutes, with both sides creating limited clear-cut chances.
Fiji lifted their intensity after the break and were rewarded when debutant Solayman Mohammed scored on his international debut, bringing the Bula Boys level and marking a memorable moment in his first appearance for Fiji.
Vanuatu's goals were scored by Alex Samuel and Thomas Napakourana.
Despite Fiji’s efforts to push back in the closing stages, Vanuatu held firm to secure the win, leaving the Bula Boys to regroup after the international friendly.
