The Bula Boys are set to host Bangladesh in an international friendly during the June FIFA window, as Fiji FA works to finalise a Tri-Nations tournament that could also feature Chinese Taipei and Hong Kong.

Fiji FA President Rajesh Patel says discussions are also underway to organise a Tri-Nations tournament, with Chinese Taipei (Taiwan) expressing interest, while Hong Kong has also requested to play against Fiji.

Patel says Fiji FA is working to finalise the participating teams to ensure the national side gains maximum exposure during the June window.

He confirms that Fiji will host the Prime Minister’s Melanesian Spearhead Group (MSG) Cup in late September, which will take place during a FIFA international window.

He adds that the tournament could see the Bula Boys playing two international matches, with further details to be confirmed closer to the event.

Patel says hosting international fixtures at home is important for player development and for raising the standard of football in the country.
