Weightlifting Fiji has requested an independent delegation from FASANOC to meet with the Athletes and Officials who have signed a Petition Letter to boycott a number of international events following the removal of Joeli Vueti from the position of National Coach of Weightlifting Fiji, to discuss the specifics and facts of the matter.

The Weightlifting Fiji Executive Board met this morning and acknowledged a Petition Letter from some Levuka Athletes and Officials.

Weightlifting Fiji President, Atma Maharaj says they respect the decision of the athletes and officials.

Maharaj says they are also aware of the email and Media Statements by Eileen Cikamatana, regarding her withdrawal from Oceania Championships, Junior World Championships and World Senior Championships this year.

He says they are taking a conciliatory approach on this matter and they will not make any further comments but will provide further updates of the outcomes, once the delegation has completed its task.
