Fiji Water Flying Fijians coach Mick Byrne has confirmed that they will soon be in talks with former Hurricanes winger Salesi Rayasi.

Rayasi, who played 50 games for the Wellington club has joined French Pro D2 club Vannes.

By signing with Vannes, Rayasi forgoes his All Blacks eligibility and is now eligible for the Flying Fijians.

While confirming this with fijivillage News, Byrne says they were also in talks with Highlanders trio Jacob Ratumaitavuki-Kneepkens, Timoci Tavatavanawai, and Jona Nareki.

He says there are a few other players they are looking at so when they move out of their New Zealand contracts, they will then be having discussions with them.

The Flying Fijians coach says right now they are focusing on the squad that they have.

He says they will look on building their squad during the Pacific Nations Cup on which other players may be available.

The Flying Fijians will take on the All Blacks at 2.30pm next Saturday at the Snapdragon Stadium, San Diego.
