We are always working to get better and as a developing nation, we are always trying to catch up and trying to get into the same statutory as the developed nations.

Those were the words of Fiji Water Flying Fijians head coach Simon Raiwalui after their 30-22 historic win over England at Twickenham Stadium.

Raiwalui says Fiji has had successes over the years with the National 7s team and also the 15s side but with the 15s side, it is more about consistency.

He says players are playing in different clubs overseas and also in the Swire Shipping Fijian Drua side in the Shop N Save Super Rugby Pacific competition have been exposed to playing at the highest level.

Raiwalui says there is good balance in the squad and there have also been good connections between the players which has been a really great benefit for the team.

He says playing against the best teams in the world especially England helps them gauge where they at with their performance.

The win over the weekend has seen the Flying Fijians climb up the world rugby rankings to 7th place with England dropping to 8th while the Wallabies slipped further to 9th place after their 41-17 loss to France earlier this morning.

The Flying Fijians will now head back to France to prepare for the Rugby World Cup.

Fiji’s first RWC game is against Wales at 7am on the 11th of next month.
