Former Flying Fijians and Fiji 7s coach Wayne Pivac is on the brink of signing a new deal with the European champion Scarlets club but has not ruled out later seeking an international job.
Pivac, who coached Scarlets to the Pro 12 title last season, is contracted until the end of 2018, but Wales Online reported on Wednesday that he is looking to extend his stay.
The Welsh news site said Pivac had been mentioned as a possible replacement for Kiwi compatriot Warren Gatland, who will step down as Wales' national coach after the 2019 Rugby World Cup finals.
But Pivac, who coached Fiji between 2004 and 2007, says his immediate focus was "around sorting out his future with the Scarlets" after four years in south Wales.
