Vinesh Phogat becomes the first Indian woman wrestler to reach an Olympic final.

Phogat’s journey from off-mat struggles to making her name in history is remarkable where she faced early exits in Rio 2016 and Tokyo 2020 and underwent knee surgery less than a year before the Olympics.

Phogat secured her place with a convincing 5-0 victory over Cuba's Yusneylis Guzman Lopez in the 50kg category, guaranteeing herself at least a silver medal.

Phogat’s determination represents not only her struggles but also those women wronged by the wrestling establishment.

Phogat’s coach Woller Akos was in tears while sharing the triumph and struggle that marked their journey together.

Phogat's victory is a statement of perseverance, determination, resilience, and justice, resonating deeply with all who have witnessed her remarkable journey to the Olympic stage.

Meanwhile, the United States is leading the Olympic tally with 24 gold, 31 silver and 31 bronze followed by China with 22 gold, 21 silver and 16 bronze, Australia is third with 14 gold, 12 silver and 9 bronze while France is fourth with 13 gold, 16 silver and 19 bronze.
