Uru to make 50th Super Rugby Pacific appearance for the Reds tonight

Fiji-born Queensland Reds lock Serupepeli Uru will be earning his 50th Shop N Save Super Rugby Pacific cap when they take on the Chiefs in the first quarter final tonight.

The 27-year-old made his Super Rugby debut in 2020 against the Brumbies and has since made his presence felt in the Reds with his outstanding performances earning him a call-up for the Australian A side last year.

He was also called up for the Wallabies extended squad that was preparing for the 2023 Rugby World Cup but missed out on the final squad.

The former Ratu Kadavulevu School lock has been named to start at number 4 tonight.

Alex Hodgman, who also has links to Fiji, has been named to start at loosehead prop tonight for the Reds alongside Uru.

The Reds will take on the Chiefs at 7.05 tonight.

Meanwhile, the Swire Shipping Fijian Drua will take on the Blues at 7.05pm tomorrow at Eden Park. In other quarter finals, the Hurricanes will host the Rebels at 4.35pm tomorrow and the Brumbies will play the Highlanders at 9.35pm tomorrow.
