There was a lot of disconnection in terms of defence for the Fiji Airways Men’s National 7s side in the recent HSBC Perth 7s which proved too costly for them.
This was highlighted by playmaker Terio Veilawa who says this is an area they need to work on before the upcoming HSBC Vancouver 7s this month.
Veilawa says in their loss to South Africa in the Perth 7s quarter final, the disconnection was their let down and they were a bit overconfident after thumping NZ in their last pool match.
When asked about what he needs to improve in terms of his performance, Veilawa says he needs to work on his defence and also how he controls the game on the field.
He adds he also needs to connect more with the forwards and try to communicate better during the game.
