New Zealand Rugby boss Steve Tew and All Blacks captain Kieran Read have described Ali Williams' arrest and charge from a Paris drugs bust as "disappointing" for the All Blacks brand.
Williams is facing a court appearance after being arrested outside a Paris nightclub last weekend which saw him spend 40 hours in police cell.
All Blacks captain Read was asked about the unwanted development when he was fronting a launch of the Super Rugby jerseys to be worn against the British and Irish Lions on their coming tour of New Zealand.
Read says the incident was a reminder that if someone has been an All Black there is a brand or standard that needs to be kept.
Read says the All Blacks always want to keep standards high and it is important that they respect that.
In the Super Rugby: the Reds will play the Force at 10.30pm tomorrow, the Chiefs play the Blues at 6.35pm Friday, the Hurricanes play the Rebels at 4.15 pm Saturday, the Crusaders face the Highlanders at 6.35pm Saturday while the Brumbies play the Sharks at 8.45pm Saturday.
