All Black’s fullback and vice‑captain Ben Smith has announced he will stay with New Zealand Rugby after earlier tantalizing the question on social media on Tuesday afternoon.
The 30‑year‑old's plans have been subject to frequent speculation since last year's end of year tour to the US, Ireland, Italy and France.
Smith, who has played 60 tests for the All Blacks since debuting against Italy in Milan in 2009, was linked to French club Pau but has remained silent on his intentions following the upcoming British and Irish Lions tour.
The future of Smith and fullback rival Israel Dagg have been a focus since first five‑eighth Aaron Cruden confirmed last month he had signed a $3.6 million deal to join French club Montpellier after his NZR deal expires this season.
