2015 Super Rugby Champions the Highlanders will be co-captained by All Black Ben Smith and New Zealand Maori skipper Ash Dixon.
Dixon replaces Shane Christie, who was the co-captain last year.
Highlanders coach Tony Brown says Dixon's previous leadership experience meant he was the logical replacement for Christie.
The Highlanders who have Waisake Naholo and Patrick Osborne amongst their ranks will start their Super Rugby campaign against the Chiefs on the 24th of next month.
