Billy Slater feels he has again put up a case for Queensland State of Origin selection following his scintillating display in Melbourne's 40‑12 defeat of Newcastle last Friday.
Slater was a shock omission from the Maroons squad for Origin I when selectors could not find a place for the Storm veteran on the wing after opting for Darius Boyd at full‑back.
Calls for an Origin recall for Slater took shape following the Maroons' 28‑4 thrashing at the hands of New South Wales in the series opener at Lang Park and they have grown louder after he scored two tries and had as many try assists in the Storm's win over the Knights at AAMI Park.
The Storm will face the Sharks at 9.50pm Thursday.
The Blues will host the Maroons in Game 2 of Origin on the 21st of this month.
