Samoan international Tim Simona has been deregistered by the NRL and the Wests Tigers.
The NRL issued a statement this morning saying that Simona was found to have breached the NRL rules by betting on Rugby League matches, bet on opposition players scoring – and against his team winning, sold Rugby League jerseys through online auctions without passing on the full proceeds to the nominated charities and been untruthful in his interviews with the Integrity Unit.
The Integrity Unit was also presented with other information, relating to his interaction with a third party, which has been considered.
Meanwhile in the NRL game tonight, the Warriors will host the Storm at 7pm while the Broncos will meet the Cowboys at 9.05pm.
