Vodafone Fijiana XVs utility forward Asinate Serevi is excited to play against some of her former teammates in the USA Women’s side if she is named in the matchday 23 squad to play this weekend.

Asinate, the daughter of Fiji Rugby legend Waisale Serevi, says this is very special for her as she played some of the players that are playing right now in the USA Women’s U20s.

She says seeing how much they have developed is exciting, because now, instead of playing alongside them, she gets to play against them.

When talking about the team’s preparation for this weekend’s game, Serevi says there has been a lot of competition, and training has been hard.

She says however, it is great to see that a lot of players are putting their hands up to step up into fighting for their positions in the team and also earn a spot to play in the upcoming Rugby World Cup.

The Fijiana XVs will take on the USA Women at 6.05am this Sunday at Audi Field in Washington.
