The 2024 Rexona Bula Business House Futsal Cup is set to enter into semi finals which will be held in two weeks under the bowls, trophy, shield, plate, and main cup categories respectively, after the completion of quarter finals in 3 categories Trophy, Shield, and Bowl.
Tournament Organiser of Bula Events Group Alan Kumar says out of the 40 teams which participate, 12 remains and they will battle it out in the finals this year.
He says the Cup Eliminations Round game will be played tonight and then they will confirm which teams have qualified for the cup semi finals.
Kumar says while the winner of the cup finals will be declared as the overall tournament winner, they wanted to keep some excitement in the games deciding to have five different categories.
He says in the next two weeks, 20 teams will battle in the semi finals in different categories and then only 10 teams will feature in the finals which will be held on Wednesday, May 8th.
Kumar says the past 8 weeks have been full of excitement and the level of Futsal in the country has gone up both in terms of football skills and public participation.
He adds the great networking for business and sports provided by the participating teams and their management and fans this year will go a long way and they thank their major sponsors – Rexona and Motibhai Group for coming on board this year.
In the results for Tuesday night; Everton Sisters (Women’s) defeated PFD 3-1 in the Trophy quarter finals, Bred Bank defeated FNPF 2-1, Centrecom Fiji thrashed Pacific Energy LTD 5-3, in the Shield quarter finals LTA beat TFL 2-1, and CFL thrashed ANZ 7-1, and in the Bowl Quarter Finals Patel Manufacturing defeated Fiji Traders 3-0 while Fiji police beat Blue Gas/Barging 3-2.
