Rewa captain calls on players to make fans proud as IDC kicks off today

Rewa captain Setareki Hughes has reminded his teammates of the team’s proud history and the importance of this year’s FMF IDC campaign, which kicks off in Ba today.

Hughes says the players are well-prepared and understand the responsibility they carry heading into the tournament.

He says it has been a long time since Rewa last lifted the IDC trophy and that has been a major motivation throughout their preparation.

They last lifted the IDC title in 2010.

Hughes says the team wants to do something special for the fans, the officials, and especially the families who continue to support the players.

Rewa takes on Nadroga in the first match of the tournament at 1.30pm while defending champions Labasa faces Nadi at 3.30pm, Lautoka takes on Suva at 6pm while hosts Ba battles Navua at 8pm at 4R Stadium at Govind Park.
