Hurricanes’ Fijian winger Salesi Rayasi has called time in the Shop N Save Super Rugby Pacific competition as he signs a new two-year deal with French club Vannes after earning 50 caps for the Wellington-based club.

The 27-year-old had another magnificent Super Rugby Pacific season with the Hurricanes this year, earning his starting jersey by the season’s end after competing with fellow Fijian Kini Naholo on the left wing.

Rayasi forgoes his All Blacks eligibility with the move but has expressed his keenness to play for Fiji in the future.

The Lau man earlier this year stated that it was his childhood dream to one day play for the Flying Fijians and now with him moving to France, his chances of playing for the All Blacks have now come to an end and have opened up a chance for the Flying Fijians to secure his signature.

Rayasi is the son of former Fiji 7s and 15s rep Filipe Rayasi, who is originally from Matuku, Lau.

Meanwhile, the Flying Fijians have now moved training camp to Georgia's capital, Tbilisi where they held their first training run yesterday in preparation for their test against the All Blacks.

The Flying Fijians will take on the All Blacks at 2.30pm next Saturday in San Diego.
