All Blacks and Hurricanes halfback, TJ Perenara is confident and determined to make a return to Super Rugby later in the season after he suffered an injury during the All Blacks end of the year tour last year.

The 80-test halfback ruptured his Achilles in the All Blacks’ 25-all dramatic draw with England last year which could rule him out for most, if not all, of the upcoming 2023 Shop N Save Super Rugby Pacific competition.

Perenara says he is doing everything he can to get back to playing for Hurricanes before the season ends this year, so he can push for a World Cup selection.

Meanwhile, the Hurricanes wrapped up their pre-season trial match with a 31-26 win over the Crusaders last night.

The Hurricanes kick off their Super Rugby campaign against Reds at 8.45pm in Brisbane next Saturday.
