The weight of qualifying for the finals is off and it is just about winning the 80 minutes and just enjoying being part of it.
This was highlighted by former Flying Fijians coach and current Blues head coach Vern Cotter as they look forward to their Shop N Save Super Rugby Pacific semi final clash against the Crusaders.
Cotter earlier said that he is confident that the Blues can break the Crusaders’ playoff record as it is there to be broken.
He says the playoff situation brings the best out of them and they saw that against the Chiefs over the weekend when they came off with a last-minute 20-19 win.
He adds that the players were locked in and it also means there is a bit of pride in the team.
Cotter says the pride was around what they are doing, and also the fact that last year was good in these intentions to keep winning and have another crack at it.
The Blues will take on the Crusaders at 7.05pm Friday in the first semi final in Christchurch.
In the second semi final, the Chiefs will host the Brumbies at 7.05pm Saturday in Hamilton.
