Matawalu signs with Pontypridd and will study rugby coaching at the University of South Wales

Flying Fijians halfback Nikola Matawalu

Flying Fijians halfback, Nikola Matawalu has set his sight on life after rugby after signing a contract with Welsh Premiership club Pontypridd as a player/skills coach.

Matawalu will also be closer to his family in Cardiff where he will be studying BSc (Hons) rugby coaching and performance at the University of South Wales.

The 33-year-old was with Montauban in the French Pro D2 last season.

He has had a glittering career and has played with Glasgow Warriors and Bath as well as winning 41 international caps for Fiji.
