MGM High aims to shine brighter at Coca-Cola Games after Suva Zone 1 victory
Penaia Ramasirai and Tirisiani Kiliraki

After winning this year’s Coca-Cola Suva Zone 1, Mahatma Gandhi Memorial High School will be trying to improve on whatever they achieved at the Coca-Cola Games last year and produce good athletes.

The school finished 3rd in the girl’s division and 9th in the boy’s division during the Coke Games last year.

This year, MGM High will be relying on athletes Penaia Ramasirai and Tirisiani Kiliraki, who both won the blue ribbon events during Suva Zone 1.

Ramasirai clocked 11.50 seconds as his personal best, and Kiliraki clocked 13.09 seconds during the final.

School Principal Sanjay Raman says they have trained well and performed beyond expectations.

He says his message to other schools is not to give up, and every school has a chance to win the title.

Raman adds the more athletes they can produce the better it is for Fiji.

MGM High School’s Kesaia Boletakanakadavu defended her blue ribbon title in last year’s Coca-Cola Games and has represented Fiji in the Pacific Games and other international competitions.

The Coca-Cola Games will be held from the 2nd to the 4th of May at the HFC Bank Stadium.
