Lolesio cleared but ongoing assessment continues

Brumbies flyhalf Noah Lolesio has been cleared of any serious spinal injuries following his exit midway through the first half of the Brumbies 33-14 win over the Western Force in Perth.

Lolesio was stretchered off the field wearing a neck brace as the flyhalf twisted in an accidental off-the-ball play while trying to repel a Force attack on his goal line in the 20th minute of Saturday night's derby.

The Brumbies have released a statement this morning, confirming the Wallaby was cleared of a serious spinal injury and was in good spirits - although it is unclear how long he will be sidelined for and what his prospects are for the upcoming Lions series.

The Brumbies say Lolesio was transported to the Royal Perth Hospital for further assessment and underwent medical imaging.

They say they are pleased to report that scans have cleared him of any serious injury, and he is in good spirits.

They further say that he will continue to be monitored by the club’s medical team over the coming days.

The statement says a timeline for his return to play will be determined based on ongoing assessment and symptom resolution.

The Brumbies will take on the Reds at 9.21pm on Saturday in round 14 of the Shop N Save Super Rugby Pacific.
