The Digicel Fiji Women's Futsal team beat Tahiti 2-1 in their first match of the OFC Futsal Women's Nations Cup 2024 in the Solomon Islands.
Both teams were tied 1-all at half time.
Birthday girl, Koleta Likuculacula scored both goals for Fiji.
She was also named Player of the Match.
Likuculacula says the girls put out a tremendous performance and she is grateful for all the support she has received.
She says the team has never played in front of such a large crowd before but she is glad that the girls did not give up.
Likulikucula admits the players were a bit lost in the first half but they came in with a different mindset after the half time talk in the locker room.
They take on Tonga at 4pm tomorrow.
Meanwhile, New Zealand thrashed Tonga 10-nil in an earlier match.
