The Sydney Roosters have announced that Shaun Kenny‑Dowall has been released from the remainder of his playing contract, effective immediately.
Kenny‑Dowall was stood down by the Roosters indefinitely in May after he was allegedly caught with half a gram of cocaine at a Sydney nightclub.
Round 15 of the NRL will kick off on Friday when the Rabbitohs face the Titans at 9.50pm.
