Fiji Football Association’s CEO, Mohammed Yusuf says the instigator of the fight during the Nasinu Local League Competition on Sunday should receive a severe penalty which will serve as a deterrent.

Yusuf says it is a serious matter and the players involved in the fight have brought disrepute to football.

He says they are now awaiting for the Nasinu Soccer Association to complete its disciplinary process before deciding whether the parent body will intervene to see justice is served.

Some players of Farmers FC and NTC Sports from Nasinu will appear before the Nasinu Soccer Association’s Disciplinary Committee next Wednesday.

Nasinu Soccer Association President, O'neil Chand says they will not refer the matter to Police at this stage and will deal with it through their Disciplinary Committee.

Chand confirms a player was not happy with the referee’s decision and this is when some players from the two teams launched an attack on each other.

He says the players can be fined and suspended.
