IDC: New champion to be crowned as Ba defeats Labasa 3-0 in semi final

The stage is set for a new champion in the 2025 FMF Inter-District Championship after host team Ba defeated defending champions Labasa 3-0 in the first semi final at 4R Stadium, Govind Park, Ba.

Vilitati Kautoga opened the scoring in the 43rd minute and Nabil Begg doubled the lead right after the second half began, sending the home crowd wild with excitement.

Etonia Dogalau scored the third goal.

Labasa were reduced to 10 men after their captain, Christopher Wasasala, received a red card in the 34th minute.

Ba goalkeeper Alzaar Alam was substituted due to an injury while defending his goal. 

With the win, Ba advances to the final, while the second semi final between Rewa and Suva is currently underway.

Fans eagerly await the final showdown, which promises an exciting conclusion to this year’s championship.

Meanwhile, more than 10,000 football fans have gathered to watch the semi final matches.

The final will be played at 3pm tomorrow.
